About Willem

Willem de Wet founded Designer Pool Covers in 2012 with a clear mission: to bring world-class pool cover solutions to South African families. With over 13 years of hands-on experience in the pool cover industry, Willem has personally overseen thousands of installations across Gauteng, the Western Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, and the Eastern Cape.

As an NSPI (National Swimming Pool Institute) accredited member and SABS SANS 10134:2016 certified installer, Willem ensures every project meets the highest safety and quality standards. His expertise spans automated slatted covers, vinyl safety covers, thermal blankets, and solar pool covers.

Willem is passionate about pool safety — particularly child and pet protection — and frequently contributes expert insights on pool cover technology, energy savings, and South African pool safety regulations.
